Foreign delegates had a taste of the Filipino brand of hospitality. The host government did the extra mile to make sure that conference delegates enjoy their stay in manila. Local organized led by the transportation acting secretary anneli lontoc did a good job of organizing the event.
They succeeded in replicating the set up except the ladderized seats as well as the ambiance of usual conferences held at the IMO headquarters in London. Even Filipino who regularly attend IMO gatherings in London were quite impressed with the set up at the plenary hall. Foreign delegates billeted in hotels were provided with shuttle in going to the conference venue and back and in doing some shopping. At the conference food was more than enough for delegates and guests prompting another Filipino member of the secretariat to comment tongue in cheek. The delegates are very lucky everything here is free whereas.
